New Students (K-12)

New students are students who have never attended Elizabethton City Schools or who may have moved and did not complete the 2016-17 school year in our system.

Parents of new in-zone students should make an appointment with their child's school to complete registration information at their earliest convenience. Parents of new students shall provide the school with the required documentation below. All new students (kindergarten, tuition, in-zone) will complete student data forms on paper, NOT online in Skyward Family Access, like returning students will (beginning in the 2017-18 school year.)

  • PARENTAL PHOTO IDENTIFICATION - parent/guardian information must match birth certificate/legal documentation. State law requires registration process be completed by the parent/legal guardian
  • BIRTH CERTIFICATE - the mother’s copy is not acceptable.
  • LEGAL DOCUMENTATION - If divorced (or legally separated) legal documentation must be provided to the school for custody requirements.
  • IMMUNIZATION CARD – Official TN Dept. of Heath Certificate of Immunization Record Form
  • CURRENT PHYSICAL - a physical given between 8/10/16 - 8/10/17.
  • MEDICAL ALERTS – Any information you wish to share that will help us serve your child better.

Elementary Registration

Elizabethton elementary schools will offer registration for new in-zone students August 1 – August 4, 2017 from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. Parents may pick up a registration packet with instructions from their child(ren)'s designated school so the school administrator can determine placement for the 2017 – 2018 school year. Students transferring from another school system will not be registered until records have been faxed from the sending school. All of the above information must be received prior to a student being enrolled.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten preregistration dates are below and take place at each school for city residents only. Kindergarten students must be 5 years of age on or before August 15, 2017. To register your child for the 2017 – 2018 school year, you must provide the information listed above by the first day of school. Please bring this information when you preregister.
