Hi! My name is Erin Keene. I am the Music Teacher at East Side Elementary and West Side Elementary. I have been teaching with ECS since 2017. I love music and sharing it with my students. My love of music began with my dad playing the guitar for me as a small child. I sang in the children's church choir and I have been playing the violin since I got one for my 13th birthday. I started teaching violin lessons while still in high school so I went to ETSU and earned a Bachelor of Music degree. I also hold a Master of Education from Milligan College with a teaching licensure for Music grades K-12.
My husband and I have two daughters and a goofy dachshund named Leroy. We all love spending time at the beach, kayaking, and gardening.
Everyone can sing! My number one expectation is that all students participate and have a willing attitude to try.
Be respectful and kind. This means we do not make fun of other students for the way they sing, dance or play an instrument. Instruments are to be treated with care and If you play before I say, I'll take your instrument away. Also, do not talk or be disruptive when others are speaking or performing.
